Summers are hot and humid in Delhi and winters are cold. The average
temperature during summers (April, May & June) ranges between 25 degrees
and 46 degrees centigrade. November to February is the winter period. During
winters, temperature drops down to a minimum of 2 degrees. July and August
are the main monsoon months. The ideal time to visit Delhi is either from
February to April or August to September.

» Red Fort : Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, the
Red Fort is one of those structures that defines the lavishness and the
opulence of the Mughals. The Rang Mahal, the Moti Masjid, the Diwan-e-Am and
the Diwan-e-Khaas are the major attractions inside the fort.

Jama Masjid : Located at a distance of 500 metres west of Red Fort, the
Jama Masjid is built in red sandstone and is the chief mosque in India. The
grand structure of the mosque was erected by Shah Jahan to send across the
message of Allah to all.
» Qutab Minar : The huge stone tower epitomises the
Indo-Islamic architecture. The area surrounding the tower is known as the
Qutab Complex has a number of other attractions including the historical
remnants of 27 Hindu and Jain temples.
» Purana Quila : The Purana Quila or the Old Fort
(as it is called by the Delhites) is another piece of Mughal history in the
country. Built by the second Mughal emperor Humayun, the fort has three
gates the Humayun Darwaza, the Talaqi Darwaza and the Bara Darwaza.
