Coaker's Walk, KodaikanalThe American missionaries set up Kodaikanal in the year 1845 to escape the unfriendly climatic conditions and the Malarial epidemic. Located in the state of Tamil Nadu, it is one of the most frequented hill stations in the southern peninsular India. The cool retreat of Kodaikanal is located at an elevation of 2,100 metres above sea level and remains punctuated with waterfalls and cascades.

Kodaikanal enjoys a pleasant climate all the year round. The temperature during summer ranges between 20 degrees and 11 degrees centigrade while the winter temperature shows a variation between 17 degrees and 8 degrees centigrade. Average rainfall at Kodaikanal measures 1650 mm. The ideal time to make a trip here is either between April and June or from September to October.

» Coaker's Walk : Just at a distance of 1 km from the Kodai Lake is a popular spot called Coaker's Walk. The place is named after Lieutenant Coaker who is accredited with preparing the map of Kodai. From upon this verdant wooded slope, you can have stunning views of the plains below.

» Bryant Park : It's a great place to wind up and uplift your spirits. The bar serves choicest of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Interact with the like-minded travellers here and indulge in merrymaking to your capacity.

» Kurinji Andavar Temple : The temple is positioned at a distance of 3.2 km from the lake. Erected in 1936 by a European lady, the temple is named after the exotic Kurinji flower that blossoms in the Kodai Hills every 12 years. It is dedicated to Sri Kurinji Easware or Lord Murugan.

Pillar Rocks, Kodaikanal» Pillar Rocks : These four rocks that seem to touch the sky are a big attraction for tourists here. These mist-laden rocks can also be viewed through a telescope from upon the Coaker's Walk. They rise to a height of more than 120 metres.
