Covelong Beach

Besides, the beach also has the ruins of ancient forts and mosques for you
to explore. The beach is located at 40 km from Chennai, the capital city of
Tamil Nadu.
Kanyakumari Beach

The
beach lies at a point where the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of
Bengal assimilate. Besides being a beach of its kind, it is also a renowned
pilgrimage centre. The stunning views of sunrises and sunsets, particularly
on Full Moon days, is a big draw for tourists here. Though the rocky
seashore is not inviting for swimmers, it attracts devotees for a holy bath
that promises the purgation of your past sins. The Vivekananda Rock
Memorial, which was built in 1970, is another major attraction for tourists
here. Other tourist attractions at Kanyakumari include the Gandhi Memorial
and the Guganathaswamy Temple.
Mahabalipuram Beach
Mahabalipuram, also famous as Mamallapuram, is yet another famous beach of
Tamil Nadu. The pristine sandy beach serves as a perfect hangout to unwind

Major sites of notice include Arjuna's Penance, Monolithic Rathas, the Shore
Temple etc. Being a significant centre of pilgrimage, Mahabalipuram also

Rameswaram Beach
Skirted by the Palk Strait and the Gulf of Mannar, Rameswaram is equally

South India. The shallow waters of the sea make it fit for swimming and
performing ablutions. Sportive Dolphins also add much to delight of tourists
and travellers. The rare aquatic species are also worth watching. Take time
out to visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple that stands close to the sea,

metres from the temple lies the holy site called Agniteertham. It is the
very site where Rama, the legendary hero of epic Ramayana, offered prayers
to Lord Shiva.
